Rare plants of Naulu Forest and Poliokeawe Pali, Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park

"The primary objectives of the survey reported here were to locate rare plants in Naulu Forest and nearby kipuka on Poliokeawe Pali, map their current distribution and abundance, determine their population structure, and evaluate threats to their continued existence". The survey took place during 1993-1995. Report includes a summary of findings for each species with some rough distribution maps. Appendix I is a list of all plants found in the study area. The nine rare species found were Hame (Antidesma pulvinatum), Ahakea (Bobea timonioides), Naio (Myoporum sandwicense), Hala pepe (Pleomele hawaiiensis), Hao (Rauvolfia sandwicensis), Ohe (Reynoldsia sandwicensis), Iliahi (Santalum paniculatum), Kolomona (Senna gaudichaudii), Maua (Xylosma hawaiiense).
