Forest vegetation plots, transects, and photopoints were re-examined eight years after the La Mesa Fire, Bandelier National Monument, NM, to determine successional differences. Vegetation from seven plots of differing burn intensities on the Escobas and Burnt Mesas were compared over time. Permanently marked photopoints were also compared. The recovery of native grasses versus the aerially reseeded grasses is discussed.
