This data depicts the roads of Big Bend National Park that are open to travel. Some roads are Service Roads that should not be traveled without specific permission from the National Park Service. Some roads are Residential Areas that are closed to the visiting public except under specific circumstances that are determined on a case-by-case basis. The remainder of the roads depicted on this map are open to the visiting public. Roads are categorized by their GENERAL use categories, but all roads are subject to degeneration of road conditions due to weather; specific road travel conditions should be confirmed with a Big Bend National Park Ranger prior to travel on any park road.
