The data set contains bedrock geology mapping within Glacier National Park. The data are based on USGS mapping by James W. Whipple (1992) at 1:125,000 scale. Several published and nonpublished geologic maps were referenced in compiling the final map and map legend. This work is referenced as USGS Professional Paper 296 and USGS Misc. Investigation Series, Map I-1508-F.
