This coverage contains line and polygon data representing the boundary for Glen Canyon National recreation Area. Paper maps were digitized of "in-park" quad boundary lines taken from USGS 7.5 Topographic maps. See supplemental information. The extent of coverage goes from just below Glen Canyon Dam on the Colorado River in Arizona, up Lake Powell including the San Juan and Escalante arms in Utah, past the headwaters of Lake Powell on the Colorado River, and ceases at the intersection of Grand, Emery, San Juan, and Wayne Co. on the Green River. This is the first revision at a scale of 1:24,000. A Cadastral survey is scheduled for the summer of 2001 for the Antelope Point portion of boundary. When this is complete, data will be appended to this coverage including metadata revision.
