Record of decision, final environmental impact statement, cumulative impacts of mining
US National Park Service, Alaska Regional Office, US Fish and Wildlife Service, US Army Corps of Engineers. 1990. Record of decision, final environmental impact statement, cumulative impacts of mining. Anchorage, AK
(Adapted from authors' abstract.) This document gives the 1990 Record of Decision concerning the EIS on cumulative impacts of mining in Denali National Park and Preserve. The decision was based on a review of the impact analysis in the EIS and input received during the public comment period. The U.S. National Park Service decided to implement, in modified form, proposed action Alternative D: Acquire all mining claims. This alternative is the most environmentally preferred as it has the least potential to cause damage to the biological and physical environment, and it would provide the highest level of protection, preservation, and enhancement of Park resources.
