The author reports the discovery of Apocope nevadensis in a spring north of Tecopa in Inyo County, and in the Amargosa River near Acme in San Bernardino County, California in June 1937. Although these locations lie outside the eastern boundary of Death Valley National Monument, the author theorizes that this species may get washed into Death Valley by way of the Amargosa River during floods such as those that occurred in December 1936 and January 1937. If that is the case, the fish die as the water recedes.
