These ArcView shapefiles (point) show the stem location of perennial vegetation on 45 - 10 meter x 10-meter vegetation monitoring plots in both the Rincon Mountain District and Tucson Mountain District. A field study was initiated in 1989-1990 to examine species composition, density and cover of perennial vegetation in the park. Size and shape of canopy and number of stems for all perennial vegetation was recorded on 45 10mx10m plots by outlining canopy cover on paper field maps using a plane table. Likewise, points were recorded for stem location. In 1999-2000, these plots were re-visited and mapped again to monitor changes during the last decade. Points for the plot corners were also mapped. These plots are embedded in the larger 4-hectare saguaro monitoring plots (PlotCorners.shp) and therefore are referred to as subplots.
