This coverage contains the ignition points of the 22 major fires that burned in and around Yellowstone National Park during the summer of 1988. These points were based on ground observations by fire lookouts in the park and recorded to the nearest 100 meters on 1:62500 topographic quad maps. Each start point consists of the name of the fire, ignition date, and an ID number.
