Vegetation is described using the TNC National Vegetation Classification system (http://biology.usgs.gov/npsveg) as well as local classes that meet the needs of HAVO's Resources Management Division. Data for the following areas, which correspond with USGS 1:24,000 quadrangles, are currently unavailable: Kulani, Pahala, Wood Valley, Upper Volcano, Upper Mauna Loa.
