Mississippi NRRA Landuse (missldug)
Budde P. 1996. Mississippi NRRA Landuse (missldug). NPS Midwest Field Area
Landuse in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. This maplayer was received from the Metropolitan Council in Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN, in 12/92, based on 1:9600 aerial photography from 1990. The data was interpreted and digitized in PC ARC/INFO. Five files, each corresponding to one county, were translated by Stoller Corporation, Boulder, CO, into dlg format. Each file was then converted to GRASS vector format with the GRASS v.import command. The files were rasterized and then patched together. In the resulting file, category 1 was an unknown landuse. BY studying air photos, it was determined that this category appeared to be the vacant category (9) in the remainder of the file. Therefore category 1 was reclassed into category 9 (vacant), and the reclassed file was resampled. Contacts for this maplayer are Miki Stuebe, National Park Service-DSC-TCE, Nancy Duncan, Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, and Deb Crouley, Metropolitan Council.
