Municipal Boundaries in the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area. Municipal boundary data (1990) were obtained from Dennis Brott, Chief Cartographer at the Minnesota Dept. of Transportation, in the form of paper plots at 1:24000 scale. These plots were indexed according to a MNDOT system which did not coincide with the USGS 1:24000 quads. The MNDOT plots were laid over the one or more quads which cover the same geographic area, and UTMs at the quad corners were used to register the MNDOT data. City and township labels were also taken from the MNDOT paper plots. Miki Stuebe, National Park Service, Denver Service Center - TCEP is the contact person for this maplayer.
