The main report fulfills one of the conditions of a special permit from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to manipulate water level in the Redwood Creek estuary and sloughs for flood control and habitat improvement. (Permit is Appendix A.) This report and the progress report summarize estuary management activities by Redwood National Park during 1992, including estimating populations of salmonids and other fish, monitoring water quality, and managing the water level. No artificial breaching occurred in 1992; park staff did meet with owners of lands adjacent to the estuary to pursue long-term solutions. Includes tables of slough trapping results, water quality measurements, chart of South Slough water levels (June-December), 2 aerial photographs of the estuary and sloughs (June 21, 1992). Appendix B is the park project clearance No. 92-06 to lower the water level in the North Slough.
