In December 1988, 14 river otters were implanted with radio transmitters, and released into the Little River, GRSM. 896 radio locations were obtained. Five otters established home ranges on Little River, four went to the northern side of GRSM. All became nocturnal or crepuscular, and avoided people. Scats, collected and analyzed, showed that crayfish and fish were the preferred foods. Resting sites, near feeding sites, were identified. Eight otters associated with others, mostly male to female.
