The raster data set contains general landcover descriptions for Glacier National Park and adjacent lands based on classification of a 1981 Landsat-MSS scene. Nine (9) landcover classes are described: dry herbaceous, mesic herbaceous, deciduous tree/shrub, dense/mesic conifer forest, open/dry conifer forest, water, barren rock/soil, snow, and shadow.
