This study was conducted on feral mares on Assateague Island National Seashore in order to determine the effectiveness of remote delivery of immunocontraception; to test the contraceptive effectiveness of a PZP vaccine in free-roaming feral mares; to determine the contraceptive effectiveness of the vaccine in pregnant and non-pregnant mares; and finally, to evaluate the safety of the vaccine for use in pregnant mares
