This paper reports on the results of an insect survey, particularly of butterflies and moths (Lepidoptera) found within four grassland habitats of Mammoth Cave National Park during summer of 1998. The sites include areas within the Cedar Sink, Crystal Cave, Great Onyx Cave, and Wondering Woods properties located within park boundaries. Results of five collection periods are recorded. Table 1 lists the scientific and common name, site, and comments for the 1,060 moth specimens (254 species in 27 Lepidoptera families) and over 1,000 other insects that have been pinned, mounted, and/or labelled. Results of the Lepidoptera are given in a narrative and listed in an attached table. Results of the Leafhoppers (Homoptera, Cicadellidae) are listed by scientific names and number of specimens in Table 2.
