Dendrometer bands were installed in 1992 on the same set of trees that were selected for the cone counts. These simple devices are used to measure the expansion of the bole of each selected white spruce tree on an annual basis. Technicians read these dendrometers bands each year in late August or early Septemeber in order to determine the total annual growth for the preceding year.
