Fourteen permanent transects were established in 1989 to monitor vegetative succession after glacial recession. The study area was a wedge of land at the foot of the Guyot Glacier on the western shore of Icy Bay and is referred to as “the Arrowhead”. Vegetative cover was read using Daubenmire methodology.
