Report of the Kipahulu Bicentennial Expedition
Lamoureux CH and Stemmermann L. 1976. Report of the Kipahulu Bicentennial Expedition. Technical report 11. Cooperative National Park Resources Studies Unit, University of Hawai`i at Manoa. Honolulu, HI
Authors attempted to re-trace the route followed by the 1967 Knpahulu Valley expedition by the Nature Conservancy to determine the environmental impact of that expedition. They report that "There is little evidence of the 1967 expedition remaining in the valley. The trails are difficult to locate and the campsites are recognizable only to those people who were on the expedition. There is no evidence of weeds being introduced into the valley along the 1967 trails." Gives recommendations for management of the valley. Appendix includes correspondence from the Knpahulu District Ranger, C.W. Smith, and Charles H. Lamoureux concerning the topic.
