Roads of Cajon Ruins Group Unit, Hovenweep National Monument, Utah
National Park Service, Intermountain GIS Program Office. 2001. Roads of Cajon Ruins Group Unit, Hovenweep National Monument, Utah. National Park Service Intermountain GIS Center
These data depict roads for Hovenweep National Monument, Cajon Ruins Group Unit. The data layer described by this metadata was created by digitizing two individual map sheets provided by the park. These maps were originally created from aerial photography taken 8/17/87. The maps sheet were digitized in August, 2000. Features and their attributes were then selected and put into separate Arc/Info coverages. Each coverage theme was then appended into one Arc/Info coverage for each theme. Each coverage was then registered using GPS data points and the Arc/Info Transform command to convert each into a UTM projection. Separate coverage layers for this unit include: contours, elevation points, fences, roads and ruins. Also included is a coverage labled miscellaneous which contains several minor features such as, ladders, sign, stairs and a trough. Arc coverages have been converted to ArcView shapefiles for use by the park. The scale is 1:50 and the contour interval is one foot.
