National Park Service, Intermountain GIS Program Office. 2001. Roads and Related Features for Goodman Point Ruins Group Unit, Hovenweep National Monument, Utah. National Park Service Intermountain GIS Center

These data depict Roads, Culverts, Cattle Guards, Parking Area and Trails for Hovenweep National Monument, Goodman Point Ruins Group Unit. This is a line coverage with the attribute, Type, describing the type of feature represented by that line, (i.e., road, trail, etc.). The data layer described by this metadata was created by digitizing ten individual map sheets provided by the park. These maps were produced in 1986. The digitizing process occurred September through December, 2000, at the NPS Intermountain GIS Center, Albuquerque, New Mexico. Features and their attributes were then selected and put into separate Arc/Info coverages. Each coverage theme was then appended into one Arc/Info coverage for each theme. Each coverage was then registered using GPS data points and the Arc/Info Transform command to convert each into a UTM projection. Separate coverage layers include: Elevation Contours, Elevation Points, Fences, Hydrology (surface), Miscellaneous Features, Roads and Related Features and Utility Poles. Arc coverages were converted to ArcView shapefiles for use by the park. Scale is 1:600. Contour interval is one foot.
