This data depicts polygons and arcs representing paved roadways of Hovenweep National Monument, Squaretower Ruins Group Unit. Culverts are contained in a seperate coverage. The data layer described by this metadata was created by digitizing eight individual Map sheets provided by the park. These maps were digitized October,1999. Features and their attributes were then selected and put to separate Arc/Info coverages. Each coverage theme was then appended into one Arc/Info coverage for each theme. Each coverage was then registered using GPS data points and Arc/Info Transform into a UTM projection. Separate coverage layers include: boulders, buildings, campsites, contours, culverts, and elevation points, fences, hydrography, point features, roads, ruins and trails&roads. Arc coverages were converted to ArcView shapefiles for use by the park. Scale is 1:50'. Contour interval is one foot. Please note. This data set is a first step towards a final product and is considered incomplete. After input from the Park, this data set will most likely contain additional data, particularly attribute data.
