This is an Arc/Info polygon coverage of the McBride Cultural Landscape Zone within the Lake Meredith NRA boundary. The Mcbride Ranch landscape contains one of the few surviving family-scale, pioneer ranches in the Texas Panhandle, and the remains of the oldest ranch house in Potter County This landscape also includes a number of elements associated with the ranching/farming operation. For example, the remains of farm fields (milo and hay were grown), the kitchen garden, irrigation system features, corrals and fencing, line camps, the canyon road, trails, bridges, ornamental plants (e.g., wild roses around the house), and rock outcrops and other sheltered areas which may have been used for corrals.
