This is a vector polygon file showing the Bird Island Basin Area at Padre Island National Seashore. File created by digitizing on-screen using DOQQ's as a base map in Arcview 3.3. The file was used in the development of the park's oil and gas management plan, which described sensitive resource areas of the park. This file is for the Bird Island Basin (BIB) area, which is a visitor use area of the park. The file includes a 1500 foot buffer around BIB, which was determined using the create buffer option in Arcview. The buffer was calculated from a road file that included the road at BIB.
