Freshwater Ponds at Padre Island National Seashore

Echols DL and Echols D. 2003. Freshwater Ponds at Padre Island National Seashore. National Park Service - Padre Island National Seashore

This is a vector polygon file showing the Freshwater Ponds at Padre Island National Seashore. File created by digitizing on-screen using DOQQ's as a base map in Arcview 3.3. The file was used in the development of the park's oil and gas management plan, which described sensitive resource areas of the park. This file is for the three permanent freshwater ponds located within the park. The file includes a 500 foot buffer around Pond A, which is located along the Bird Island Basin Road, Pond B, which is located behind the Ranger Station, and Pond C, which is located near the park's sewage treatment ponds. The buffers were determined using the create buffer option in Arcview. The buffer was calculated from a point file that included a center point for each pond.
