Oak Mottes and Motte Buffers at Padre Island National Seashore

Echols DL and Echols D. 2003. Oak Mottes and Motte Buffers at Padre Island National Seashore. National Park Service - Padre Island National Seashore

This is a vector polygon file showing the Oak Mottes and Motte Buffers at Padre Island National Seashore. File created by digitizing on-screen using DOQQ's as a base map in Arcview 3.3. The file was used in the development of the park's oil and gas management plan, which described sensitive resource areas of the park. This file is for the two historic oak mottes. The file includes a 500 foot buffer around each motte, which was determined using the create buffer option in Arcview. The buffer was calculated from a point file that included a location in the center of each motte.
