This is a vector polygon file showing the Malaquite Visitor Center and Campground at Padre Island National Seashore. File created by digitizing on-screen using DOQQ's as a base map in Arcview 3.3. The file was used in the development of the park's oil and gas management plan, which described sensitive resource areas of the park. This file is for the Malaquite Visitor Center and Campground area, which are visitor use areas of the park. The file includes a 1500 foot buffer around both facilities, which were determined using the create buffer option in Arcview. The buffer was calculated from a line file of both areas and then modified to extend only to the road and the beach.
