Boundary was created from the legal description of Lake Mead NRA using Public Land Survey System (PLSS) section lines obtained as Geographic Coordinate Data Base (GCDB) data published by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM, Denver, Colorado, 20041029), along with topographic contours obtained as 1:24,000 Digital Line Graph (DLG) data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Legal descriptions for the Nevada and Arizona portions of the recreation area were obtained from the National Park Service.
