This dataset shows the layout and location of the old US Coast Guard station in the Virginia portion of Assateague Island National Seashore. This dataset also includes the area and perimeter of the polygons that were digitized over the structures. The station was first established in 1875 and its crew participated in numerous rescues. The existing buildings date to 1922 and are currently used as summer seasonal staff housing.
