Dinosaur National Monument Historic Fire Ignition Point Data

Hansen K. 2005. Dinosaur National Monument Historic Fire Ignition Point Data. National Park Service, Fire Program Analysis

This dataset contains ignition points for fires in Dinosaur National Monument for all years in recorded history and for all fire types. A subset of the data contained in this shapefile was validated by the FPA (Fire Program Analysis) data assembly team: years 1980 to 2003, and fire types 11-14 (suppressions), 15/16 (mutual aids), 21 (natural outs), and 48/49 (prescribed fires). Please note that a few fires of type 37 and 5x were also validated. This validation process included correcting the spatial location of fire ignition points, and validated points are noted in the attribute table. The tabular data used to create this shapefile was downloaded from the SACS (Shared Application Computer System) database on April 5, 2005.
