This FARSITE (Fire Area Simulator) landscape file is a model for spatially and temporally simulating the spread and behavior of fires for Grand Teton National Park. The landscape file contains eight data layers, including: fuel model, canopy cover, tree height, canopy base height, canopy bulk density, elevation, slope, and aspect. The data was developed by the FPA data assembly team from fuels and elevation data with extensive input/guidance from fire behavior experts. For additional information not contained in this metadata, please refer to the narrative document that accompanies this data. Please Note: This data represents FARSITE data for GRTE as of about 1985. No updates have been made for recent fires since an I&M vegetation map with fuels data is expected to be completed within about one year and that data will reflect up to date fuel conditions.
