This FARSITE (Fire Area Simulator) landscape file is a model for spatially and temporally simulating the spread and behavior of fires for Lake Meredith National Recreation Area. The landscape file contains eight data layers, including: fuel model, canopy cover, tree height, canopy base height, canopy bulk density, elevation, slope, and aspect. The data was developed by the FPA data assembly team from fuels and elevation data with extensive input/guidance from fire behavior experts. For additional information not contained in this metadata, please refer to the plain text read-me file that accompanies this data. NOTE: Upon close inspection by Mike Davin (LAMR Fire Management Officer) and Steve Fisher (Fire GIS Specialist), this draft fuels coverage does not adequately reflect the amount of Tamarisk (fuel model 4). Additional review and correction of fuels data for Fuel Model 3 and Fuel Model 4 is required.
