This dataset contains ignition points for fires in Yellowstone National Park for the years 1980 to 2003, and fire types 11-14 (suppressions), 21 (natural outs), and 49 (prescribed fires). This validation process included correcting the spatial location of fire ignition points, and all points in this shapefile were validated. The tabular data used to create this shapefile was downloaded from the SACS (Shared Application Computer System) database February 26, 2004.
