ARCN_sample_plots represents the 69 10 X 10 km sample blocks surveyed and inventoried from 2001-2003 during US Geological Survey's NPS-sponsored Inventory and Monitoring project "Inventory of montane-nesting birds in National Parks of Northwest Alaska". The study blocks were selected from a statewide grid created by Barbara Boyle of the US Fish and Wildlife Service, and blocks were allocated in proportion to the dominant subsection present in each park. Study blocks were sampled in Cape Krusenstern NM, Gates of the Arctic NPP, Kobuk Valley NP, and Noatak NP.
