An ecoregional map that delineates the ecological sections of Cape Krusenstern National Monument, Gates of the Arctic National Park and Preserve, Kobuk Valley National Park, and Noatak National Park and Preseve. Only montane regions (greater than or equal to 100m elevation) are represented in this shapefile. This shapefile was created by merging the aforementioned four individual subsection mapping efforts, obtained from the National Park Service Alaska Support Office's GIS Clearinghouse website, then dissolving internal boundaries to delineate the extent of ecological sections. Elevational data were derived from the Alaska National Elevation Dataset (NED). This shapefile was created for application to the Alaska Science Center/US Geological Survey's Inventory and Monitoring project, "Inventory of montane-nesting birds in the National Parks of Northwest Alaska".
