This is a raster dataset in which cell values represent fire fuel models, developed by the National Fire Fuel Laboratory (NFFL), based on the corresponding vegetation classes and on estimated amounts of available live fuel. Estimates of available live fuel were based on field-collected fire fuel load data and a crosswalk of formation-level vegetation class to NFFL fuel model. Available live fuels are measured in the fall after substantial vegetation drying and curing has occurred, whereas complacent fuels are measured before seasonal vegetative drying and curing have occurred.
