This database represents the maintained roads in Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, with selected areas adjacent to the parks. The data originated from USGS DLG's and has since been updated using GPS, imagery, and Lidar by the NPS. Updates were done during 1999 and 2000, with some Dillonwood dirt roads added from GPS in 2002. Cabin Creek and Dorst were updated in 2003. It should not be considered 100% accurate. Major updates were done in 2007 to align with NAIP imagery and better update certain areas like Wilsonia. 2018 updates incorporated the NPS data standard for Roads and edited front-country data with available Lidar imagery.
