This is a shapefile line coverage file showing the northern section of the Potomac Heritage Trail (PHT) within George Washington Memorial Parkway. The file covers the PHT from Theodore Roosevelt Island to the American Legion Bridge on the western shore of the Potomac River. Please note: this file does not cover the entire length of the Potomac Heritage Trail. There are additional segments of the trail both within and outside of the GWMP. The original method of gathering the data is unknown, but it was most likely GPSed, converted to an ArcInfo coverage, then converted to a shapefile.
