Cave Resource Inventory and Monitoring Dataset

Moniz-Nakamura J. 2008. Cave Resource Inventory and Monitoring Dataset. National Park Service

Guidelines provided by the 1988 Federal Cave Resource Protection Act state that significant caves located on federal lands, which are threatened by misuse or development, requires a basis for management and identification. During 2007-2008, cave resource inventory and monitoring were conducted throughout HAVO, KALA, and PUHO. Inventory of caves during this project consisted of intensive pedestrian cave surveys which employed the use of photo documentation and photographic comparison, cave register logs, resource inventories, vegetation analysis and ecological assessments.
