This shapefile contains points representing the summits of mountains on Mount Desert Island, Maine. Some were originally mapped using Trimble differentially corrected GPS (capturing the post marker on the hiking trail system of Acadia National Park). Others were added by manually digitizing a point at the highest elevation pixel on a 10m DEM created by the USGS. Attributes include the name of the mountain and the elevation in feet above sea level.
