Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Seabird Colony Focused Searches and Seabird Radar Surveys, 2005

Kozar K. Hawaii Volcanoes National Park Seabird Colony Focused Searches and Seabird Radar Surveys, 2005. Roberta Swift

Surveys for this study were conducted between June 27th and August 24th 2005, but additional data from previous HAVO monitoring activities was summarized for this report as well. Timing of surveys was based upon breeding chronologies reported in species accounts for Newella??s shearwater (Ainley et al. 1997) and band-rumped storm petrel (Slotterback 2002). Survey locations were selected from records of previous Newella??s shearwater and band-rumped storm petrel occurrence, or because of similarity with breeding habitat elsewhere.
