This data set contains location, textural, and chemical parameters for 269 surficial sediment samples collected in the Virginia portion of Chincoteague Bay located on the Atlantic coast of the Delmarva Peninsula. The location parameters include Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Grid Coordinates (easting and northing, zone 18, in meters) for sample locations. Textural parameters include percent by weight of water, sand, silt, clay and gravel size components, and cumulative weight percentages for quarter phi size class between -1 phi and 4 phi, phi values for 5, 16, 50, 84, and 95 cumulative percentiles, Folk graphic mean and sorting (standard deviation) for sediments consisting of greater than 75 percent by weight of sand. Chemical parameters include concentrations (total or near total) of the following elements: Nitrogen, Carbon (total, organic and reactive), Phosphorus, Sulfur, Cadmium, Chromium, Copper, Iron, Manganese, Nickel, Lead, Zinc, Arsenic, Silver, Beryllium, Mercury, Antimony, Selenium, Aluminum, Gold, Barium, Bismuth, Bromine, Calcium, Cerium, Cobalt, Cesium, Europium, Hafnium, Iridium, Potassium, Lanthanum, Lutetium, Magnesium, Molybdimum, Neodymium, Rubidium, Scandium, Samarium, Tin, Strontium, Tantatum, Terbium, Titanium, Thorium, Uranium, Vanadium, Tungsten, Yttrium, Ytterbium.
