This dataset includes bathymetry soundings collected in the Virginia Chincoteague Bay adjacent to and within Assateague Island National Seashore between July 1 and August 16, 2007. These data were collected in conjunction with subaqueous sediment sampling efforts in the VA Coastal Bays in Fall of 2006. Overall, this project will enable Assateague Island National Seashore to manage all of its estuarine waters equally and as one holistic system by providing the missing information from the Virginia estuarine resources. The information will be integrated into ongoing efforts to address specific management concerns in concert with state and local partners.
