Zone boundaries of Yosemite's Wilderness used for user quota limits and Wilderness management. Numbered zones within Yosemite's designated wilderness used to set overnight use limits. Quotas are set for all trailheads that access each zone to limit overnight use. Jan Van Wagtendonk was instrumental is the formation of these zones beginning in the 1970s.
