Large Fire Perimeters 1984-2006 in Glacier National Park and Environs, Derived from Landsat TM Burn Severity Data

Menicke RK. 2007. Large Fire Perimeters 1984-2006 in Glacier National Park and Environs, Derived from Landsat TM Burn Severity Data. Carl Key (USGS) & Richard Menicke (NPS)

The data set shows large fire perimeters in the Glacier National Park region, dating from 1984 through 2006. Most of these fire perimeters were derived from extended assessments of burn severity based on analysis of 30-meter Landsat Thematic Mapper (TM) satellite imagery. Burn perimeters were mapped principally from the post-fire TM scene at 28.5-meter resolution. This work was accomplished by Carl Key, USGS. These perimeters are considered to be more accurate than incident-management derived data.
