Farsite LCP using 40 Fuel Models for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks
Folger K. 2009. Farsite LCP using 40 Fuel Models for Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. Sequoia And Kings Canyon National Parks
This Farsite LCP was created from the 2001 vegetation map base. Updates were applied to the fuel models based on burn severity data through 2008. 2009 fires were assigned a generic severity of moderate since the severity data is not yet availalble. Fuel models were derived using a fuels succession model developed for SEKI and Yosemite. Some values are from a USFS Region 5 CALVEG crosswalk which also included default values for Crown Bulk Density and Hieght to live. Canopy cover was part of the veg map but had to be crosswalked to actual percentages. Stand height was derived from plot data if available, otherwise the default values were used.
