Kiedrowski C. 2006. 5-foot interval topographic contours for the Town of Bar Harbor, Maine.. KAPPA Mapping, Inc.
This shapefile contains lines depicting 5-foot interval contour lines covering the Town of Bar Harbor, Maine (which includes portions of Acadia National Park). The entire town of Bar Harbor (including Acadia National Park) was flown for stereo black and white aerial coverage on May 1, 2004. Photo scale is at 1:14,400 which is suitable for 1:2400 mapping with 5 foot contours, based on National Map Accuracy Standards (NMAS). Limited planimetric (roads, hydrography, buildings, etc.) and topographic (breaklines, mass points, spot elevations) features were stereo compiled to produce a Triangular Irregular Network (TIN). From this TIN, 5 foot contours were generated. Contours were edited for cartographic completeness and labeled. Contour data is in the Maine State Plane Coordinate System (SPCS), East Zone, based on NAD 83 horizontal datum and NAVD 88 vertical datum. Units are in U.S. Survey Feet.
