Cultural Resource Data Exchange Standard for Ethnographic Resouces Represented as Lines (crethn_ln): Adopted
Knoerl J. 2010. Cultural Resource Data Exchange Standard for Ethnographic Resouces Represented as Lines (crethn_ln): Adopted. Cultural Resources Subcommittee of the NPS GIS Council
This data transfer standard describes a structure for ethnographic resources depicted as lines. Multiple feature geometries may coexist for the same ethnographic resource as a result of overlapping surveys each with their own particular purpose and bias. All ethnographic resources identified on cultural resource inventories of the National Park Service are covered by this data transfer standard. Attribute data are intentionally limited to those necessary for spatial data maintenance and feature level metadata. Data from external database systems are intended to link with these data to provide basic feature attributes. The means to maintain unique identifiers for each ethnographic resource (CR_ID), Survey_ID, as well as unique geometries associated with that feature (Geometry_ID) are through the use of Globally Unique Identifiers (GUIDs) assigned by the database. Information about the genesis of individual lines is documented by feature level metadata fields in the spatial attribute table.
