This is an interim soil survey (in shapefile format) for the lands within Grand Portage National Monument, field work conducted in 2004. On the ground investigations were carried out only within park boundary, and may not be representative of the larger landscape context. It is understood that completion of the soil survey for Cook County may supercede these delineations, but until that time, this survey provides a detailed map delineating the soil types within park ownership.
